My Ideal Person I will admit to being partial to long-haul truck drivers. I was one myself, many years ago, but am medically grounded, so I now work in a truck stop. Not quite the same, but at least I get paid to "hang out" with Drivers!

I've spent many years as the care-taker of a frail, prematurely old man who died way too young. As as result, I'm rather "soured" on mothering anyone right now. Outside of sex...I like the outdoors. I enjoy walks in the Metroparks (Making out in the Window on Wildlife room can be fun!). Fishing is an activity I've had to put on hold for far too many years. Ditto for horseback riding. I've always enjoyed camping, but due to sleep apnea, I'm no longer able to "rough it". I can identify several species of birds just by their call, and know of (& have eaten) many varieties of "wild" foods. I've been able to start a fire with a magnifying lens, & ALMOST got one going with a fire bow. I can read sign to a limited extent, as well as forecast the weather without consulting the Weather Channel. While I used to shoot competitively in high school, I've never hunted. But I know how to field-dress game! My boating experience is limited. My grandparents used to have a small power boat that they would sometimes let me drive--under supervision, of course! I had to sell my boat due to lack of storage space. I also enjoy working with my hands; I used to do many of my own automotive work--both mechanical & body work--before cars got so complicated. I don't mind rolling up my sleeves & crawling under a car. I can also do some house repairs; painting, drywall, some electrical. I'm also a pretty fair hand at yardwork & gardening. I was in mall maintenance many years ago at NorthTowne Mall in Toledo. I've had a garden of one kind or another almost as soon as I knew which end of a trowel was the business end.

When the weather gets nasty outdoors, there's few things nicer than curling up together in front of a crackling fire with some hot chocolate, toasted marshmallows, popcorn, & a few classic movies (Marx Bros, Laurel & Hardy, 3 Stooges, etc.) Unfortunately, I don't have an *indoor* fireplace. I enjoy card games like Euchre, Hearts & some forms of Rummy. Crokanole is a fun game, but it's difficult finding someone in this country who knows how to play it! (Think of a combination of darts & shuffle-board--played on a card table!) Board games like Chess, Scrabble & Trivial Pursuit have long been favorites. I'm also VERY fond of RuneScape!

Running is an activity I've NEVER enjoyed, & avoid it except in extreme emergencies Swimming, however, is fun. My dad used to be a SCUBA instructor, & was in the process of teaching me diving, but then he & my mom split up. I used to be pretty good at skin diving, tho; couldn't go very deep due to sensitive ears, but could stay down about 2 min. Unfortunately, I'm sadly out of shape for skin diving right now. I'd really like to re-condition myself, but a YMCA membership is way out of my price range. The public pools are just too darned crowded in the summer; too many noisy, bouncy kids! The few open/family swim times the YMCA has don't match my work schedule. I miss the quarry diving I used to do in high school. (I once lived just a few miles from the quarry at Centennial Terrace in Sylvania, OH.)

My husband of 18 years passed away unexpectedly in June 2011. Remarriage is absolutely, positively out of the question, due to the restrictions of the UAW survivor's pension contract. However, a long-term relationship is definately possible.
